The CAIT met with representatives from agriculture-related sectors of the economy to ask farmers and answer their concerns through talks with the government and also appeal to the government to listen to the farmers.
The leaders pointed out that agricultural regulations not only affects farmers but also allied industries like shipping, trade in agricultural goods, food crops, consumption, food production, seeds and pesticides, fertilizer. These laws demanded the protection of the interests of all stakeholders as well.
According to a statement, the protests affected approximately 30% to 40% of products going to Delhi which adversely affected commercial activity.
The statement added that in the current situation which has arrived due to the ongoing protest and seeing the potential consequences on the economic operations because of the same protest movement, a meeting between farmers' leaders and all leaders from other sectors concerned will be attempted in the immediate future on the current problems. To turn loss farming into benefit farming, a formula must be drawn for collective coordination. Under the Convention, Naresh Sirohi and Krishan Veer Chaudhary, a Joint Committee of prominent leaders of all sectors were formed. Shortly after contact with the agitating farmers, this commission will hold a meeting". But It is neither an agricultural nor an industrial state adding that if this persisted, other areas will in the immediate future be faced with tremendous losses and would add to the COVID 19 pandemic effect.
