Unaffordable Farming Forces Maha Farmers to Apply for Rs 6.6 Crore Loan
On Thursday, Kailas Patange, a native of Taktoda village in the district, applied for a loan at a bank in Goregaon.
Farmers in India continue to face plenty of issues. In comparison to other emerging countries, Indian agriculture is primarily reliant on the monsoon, which significantly limits crop variety.
Weather, a week-long or delayed monsoon, insufficient soil fertility, crop pests and illnesses, and the ability to ruin crops are among the key causes of India's agricultural shortage.
In India, farmer suicides are also a continuing issue. A farmer in Maharastra, on the other hand, has decided to stop farming.
He claimed that irregular rains and drought-like conditions have made farming unaffordable in recent years.
A 22-year-old farmer from Maharashtra's Hingoli has filed for a bank loan of around Rs 6 crore to buy a helicopter and rent it out, referring to the fact that farming has become unaffordable.
On Thursday, Kailas Patange, a native of Taktoda village in the district, applied for a loan at a bank in Goregaon.
Patange, who owns two acres of land, says that over the years, irregular rains and drought-like conditions have made farming costly.
"Over the last two years, I've been growing soybeans on my land. However, unseasonal rainfall did not yield good results. Even crop insurance funds were insufficient "Patange stated.
Patange came up with the concept of buying a helicopter and renting it out to make a living after considering these concerns.
Patange, talking to PTI, said: "Who says only the wealthy could have big aspirations? Farmers should also have big dreams. I've filed for a Rs 6.65 crore loan to buy a helicopter. Other businesses have a lot more competition, so I decided to go for it."
On Friday, June 3, Maharashtra's CMO took to Twitter to announce a new scheme for the state's farmers, which was announced by the MVA government. He stated that the "Vegetable Seed" scheme aims to ensure farmers' nutrition and a well-balanced diet.
