Good news for UP farmers. Uttar Pradesh government has started the registration of farmers to sell wheat at MSP.

Farmers can register on the website of the Food and Logistics Department of Uttar PradeshClick here to open the link. The procurement of wheat will start from April 1 at the Minimum Support Price MSP of Rs. 1975 per quintal. 6000 purchasing centers will be set up in UP as per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and he has also given the instructions for geo-tagging of storage godowns and all purchasing centres.

According to an official statement, on 26 February, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reviewed the guidelines related to wheat procurement 2021-22 and proposed purchasing policy with departmental officials.

CM said that this time online slip facility must be provided to wheat farmers, and CM Yogi has given clear instructions to the departmental officers that farmers’ produce should be paid on time, and also ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience in selling their produce.

Additional Commissioner Santosh Kumar in the Food and Logistics Department of Uttar Pradesh had given a statement that wheat will be procured from the registered farmers in the entire state from April 1, in the Rabi marketing year 2021-22. The farmers can get their registration done at the registration department’s website- https://fcs.up.gov.in/. During registration, OTP (one time password) will be sent to the mobile number given by the farmer, after which the registration will be locked.

Farmers can register on the website themselves through cyber cafes or public convenience centers

Unlike the paddy procurement during the Kharif season, farmers can nominate someone in their family to be present at the procurement center. Additional Commissioner Santosh Kumar said in his statement that if for some reason the farmers are unable to sell wheat by visiting the center themselves, then they can nominate a person from their family during the registration only by entering the details and Aadhar number of the nominated person.
