On Tuesday, Minister of State for Vocational Education and Skill Development, Kapil Dev Agarwal launched a drone training programme for instructors at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to pass on the skill to the youth. Agarwal said the training session is aimed at providing quality training to the trainees enrolled in ITIs.

The government has launched 12 new age courses in seven areas across 29 government ITIs, training 7,938 trainees each year.

Four drone courses have been introduced in 15 ITIs across three sectors (electronics, agriculture, and aviation and aerospace). Approximately 3,200 trainees will be trained. These courses are as follows:

  • Drone service technician

  • Drone manufacturing and assembly technician

  • Kisan drone operator

  • Drone operator multirotor

According to the minister, the new drone courses will help young people become self-sufficient or find work. "By being self-sufficient, youth can be job providers rather than job seekers," Agarwal said.

Drone training is essential for anyone who wants to operate a commercial or industrial drone. You will learn about safety regulations and proper flying procedures during the training.

Drone training is important because it teaches you the skills required to perform drone work. Not only that, but it teaches you how to be safe while flying, which is a must.

Drones can be used for land surveying, inspection, spraying, and damage assessment. This enables the farmer to identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently. Drones are used in research to collect multispectral aerial imagery that can be used to create maps such as the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), CWSI, CCCI, and others.
