Uttarakhand Distributes Mandua Thresher, Spray Machines & Small Agricultural Implements to Farmers

Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand visited the ICAR- Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan in Almora. Rawat applauded the Institute’s work being carried out for the development of hill agriculture. He showed his keen interest in the various varieties of finger millet, maize and Vivek Mandua Thresher. The CM also distributed Mandua Thresher to 13 farmers of Almora District and spray machines & small agricultural implements to 37 farmers of Chamoli District.

Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand visited the ICAR- Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan in Almora. Rawat applauded the Institute’s work being carried out for the development of hill agriculture. He showed his keen interest in the various varieties of finger millet, maize and Vivek Mandua Thresher. The CM also distributed Mandua Thresher to 13 farmers of Almora District and spray machines & small agricultural implements to 37 farmers of Chamoli District.  

The Minister launched the “Vivek Krishi Voice Message Service” of the Institute. The service will provide the proper and timely management of standing crops to registered farmers on Recorded Voice Message by Mobile No. - 9997023062. Along with this, Shri Rawat also released the improved varieties of traditional crops developed by the Institute namely - VL Bhat 201, VL Mandua 379 and VL Hybrid Maize 57 for the hill farmers.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Arunava Pattanayak, Director, ICAR-VPKAS highlighted about the various varieties and technologies developed by the Institute.

A District Level Meeting was also organized by the District Administration in the Institute during the occasion.

Shri Raghunath Singh Chauhan, Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly; Smt. Rekha Arya, Minister of Women and Child Development Minister, Government of Uttarakhand; MLAs - Shri Mahesh Negi, Shri Surendra Singh Jeena; Shri Nitin Singh Bhadoria, District Magistrate; along with other senior officials of Uttarakhand Administration were also present during the occasion.
