Wheat to be obtained at Rs. 2015 per Quintal in Bhopal

The MSP or minimum support prices for procurement of rabi crops has been fixed by the Madhya Pradesh government.

In a press release released by the Bhopal district administration, the MSP for per quintal of rabi crops is mentioned below:

The press release also mentioned that the farmers who are willing to sell their produce at MSP have to register themselves at the appointed registration centers by March 5. It should be noted that the registration process has changed.

The agriculture department is constantly vigil of the situation because of the problems faced by farmers while registering, said the press release.

Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Principal Secretary of food and civil supplies, has assembled a high level meeting with the commissioner’s office to discuss the issues related to procurement of rabi crops. Gulshan Bamra, MD, Civil Supplies Corporation, MD, Warehousing Corporation etc will be joining the meeting. 

Kidwai, who is also an IAS officer of batch 1996, was initially appointed as the commissioner of the directorate of health in early April 2020.

Later, he was appointed as the principal secretary of health department in mid- May in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak. He was then shifted to the food and civil supplies department.
