Workshop on Academia-Industry-Government Linkages for Quality Agricultural Education Held in Bengaluru

The “4th Consultative Workshop on Academia-Industry-Government linkages for Quality Agricultural Education” was jointly organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad and the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru. The workshop was organized at the Gandhi Krishi Vigyan Kendra Campus, UAS, Bengaluru from 6th to 7th November, 2019. Prof. S. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, UAS, Bengaluru during the workshop underscored the need for strengthening the relations between university, industry and government. He highlighted the Organization’s efforts undertaken in the designated direction. Prof. Prasad also urged the faculty of UAS, Bengaluru for accessing more funds from the industry for conducting research.

Prof. Chinna Swamy, K.P., Coordinator, PPMC & Nodal Officer (Agricultural Education) to ICAR, UAS, Bengaluru presented the synthesis of all the inputs provided by all 60 participants.

The workshop was organized in an attempt to get the input for developing a framework for strengthening the relationship between 3 parties, that is, Academia (AUs), Industry and Government to improve the quality of Agricultural Education.

The Workshop was also a part of the World Bank sponsored National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) Component - 2A.

A total 60 participants representing Agricultural Universities, Industry and Government belonging to Karnataka, Kerala and Jharkhand participated in the workshop.
