1) Curry leave saplings

Nothing expounds the Title Indian food than a good and thorough tempering with mustard seeds and curry leaves, be it dal, or any kind of curry it isn't a complete curry until it gets that trademark "Tadka" with curry leaves and mustard seeds. This makes it one of the most important tree saplings to have in one's herb garden.

2) Tulsi

This is a herb that is used in every homemade remedy for the common cold no matter what kind of cold you are suffering from tulsi and honey is one of the most used homemade remedies for it. Apart from its cold relieving properties it also can be used in various other food delicacies too.

3) Rosemary

Nothing screams Humid summer in the Indian Subcontinent than a few mosquitoes biting you in places where it's really unreachable to scratch, well if you were waiting for an organic solution for this problem you don't need to wait any longer as Rosemary works as a great mosquito repellent. It is a medicinal and aromatic plant that keeps the mosquitoes, cabbage moths and carrot flies away. They work best in warm and dry temperatures and can be easily grown in containers.

4) Methi or fenugreek

Commonly known as Methi in Hindi and Vendhayam in Tamil. It is utilized a lot in various North Indian and South Indian dishes whether it be the meth in dal curry or the Aloo Methi sabji it is used a lot in a variety of delicacies in India. And it is something that can be used to control diabetes, help in controlling cholesterol and acts as an antacid and also help in preventing hair loss.

5) Lemon balm

Another home remedy used to alleviate colic and upset stomach in everyone from infants to the elderly. Lemon balm is a herb whose leaves can also be chewed to freshen breath or crushed and applied to a bug bite to relieve itching.
