Farmers Can Use These Late-Sown Wheat Varieties to Obtain High Yields

Farmers usually begin sowing wheat in the month of October and majority of them complete the process of sowing till mid-November. They avoid late-sown varieties because of lesser yields. But at present we have many late-sown wheat varieties developed by agriculture scientists that give good yield to the farmers in less time. Here are some of the late-sown wheat varieties;

But at present we have many late-sown wheat varieties developed by agriculture scientists that give good yield to the farmers in less time. Here are some of the late-sown wheat varieties;

DBW173

  • This variety is developed by the Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research,

  • Gives highest yield within a period of 120 days & is also disease-resistant.

  • Average yield of this variety is 47.2 quintal per hectare & if grown in favourable conditions, it can give up to 57 quintals / hectare.

Narendra Wheat L076

  • It has been prepared for delayed sowing in irrigated places.

  • It is prepared after about 100 to 115 days of sowing.

  • Crop of this variety are about three feet tall.

  • Its yield per hectare ranges from 35 to 40 quintals.

Sonali HP L633

  • It has been prepared for delayed sowing in irrigated places.

  • The length of this variety of wheat is around 4 feet.

  • The production per hectare is found to be 35 to 40 quintals.

  • Ready to be harvested about 120 to 130 days after planting seeds.

UP 2425

  • This variety of wheat is grown more in Uttar Pradesh.

  • It has been prepared for delayed sowing in irrigated places.

  • The seeds of this variety are prepared after 126 to 134 days of sowing.

  • The yield per hectare is found to be from 36 to 40 quintals.

HD - 2888

  • It has been prepared for late growing in non-irrigated places.

  • 120 to 130 days after transplanting seeds of this variety is ready for harvesting.

  • Its length is around three feet.

  • The production per hectare of this variety is 30 to 40 quintals.

  • This variety of wheat is rust resistant.

VL Gahun 892

  • This variety has been approved for limited irrigation in lower and intermediate areas.

  • This medium high altitude variety is cooked in 140-145 days.

  • This yellow and brown rust is resistant to reggae.

  • Its grains are sharavati and hard and make good chapati, the average yield of this variety is 30-35 q / ha.

HS 490

  • This medium height variety has been approved for limited irrigation in the lower intermediate mountain areas.

  • Its grains are thick white sarbati and semi hard.

  • This variety is suitable for making biscuits.

  • This variety is ready in 150 days.

  • Its average yield is about 30 q / ha.

Him/ Snow Palam Wheat 3

  • This new variety of high yielding wheat is resistant to yellow and brown rust Pejarium headlight.

  • This variety has been found suitable for backward sowing in rainy conditions in the lower mountainous lowlands of Himachal Pradesh.

  • Snow Palam Wheat gives an average yield of 25-30 q / ha.

  • Its grains are thick and golden colored.

  • The quality of making chapattis has been found good in it.

  • HP W 373 is a better alternative to the previously approved variety HS 490 and a replacement for VL 892.
