This New Tomato Variety Will Give 1400 Quintal Yield in One Hectare

Namdhari-4266 Tomato variety gives 1400 quintal per hectare
In this series, for the farmers growing tomatoes, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) of Kanpur has developed a new variety, which can yield 1,200 to 1,400 quintals per hectare. This variety of tomato has been named Namdhari-4266, which is also available to farmers now. It is important to mention that while common tomato varieties gives yield of 400 to 600 quintals per hectare, farmers can obtain 1,200 to 1,400 quintals per hectare with this new tomato variety. This discovery in the horticulture sector is being seen as a new revolution for farmers.
No Diseases and Pests
Generally for tomato cultivation, about Rs.50000 per hectare is spent on weeding, sowing, irrigation, hoeing and fertilizer etc. But as Namdhari-4266 variety of tomatoes can be cultivated in poly houses, there is no fear of any disease and pests. Moreover the crop is ready in 45 days.
Nursery preparation
This tomato variety is planted in the months of September and October and the crop is ready in between December and February. A mixture of cocopeat, perlite and vermiculite is added to the soil, which gives the plant essential nutrients it needs. It does not require much water for irrigation. Irrigation is easily done by drip method.
