Wheat Variety HD 3226: Highly Resistant to Yellow, Brown, Black Rust and Yields 70 Quintals per Hectare
At present, there are many varieties of wheat available in the market that are ready to mature and give results in the shortest period of time but still, the agronomists are constantly trying to develop other varieties of wheat for better yield along with other qualities. Recently, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) had issued a license to seed-producing companies on 30 August 2019 to produce the most nutritious wheat HD 3226 (Pusa Yashwasi) seed in the country.

Recently, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) had issued a license to seed-producing companies on 30 August 2019 to produce the most nutritious wheat HD 3226 (Pusa Yashwasi) seed in the country.
As per reports, seed companies were given 100 kg of foundation seed so that the companies could prepare the seeds and provide it to the farmers in the Rabi season next year. Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, issued the license to seed producing companies.
Wheat HD 322670 Can Yield 70 Quintal per Hectare
According to Dr. Rajbir Yadav, breeder and principal scientist of this wheat variety who has completed the research in 8 years said, “ In an ideal condition, its yield can be up to 70 quintals per hectare. Moreover, it is resistant to wheat rust disease and Karnal bunt." He added that due to less protein in Indian wheat; it was not exported to the foreign countries, which would now end the problem.
How to Sow Wheat HD 322670?
To get the full yield from this wheat, it is necessary to plant it during late October or November. The crop will ripe and be ready in 142 days. This variety is suitable for Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Terai region of Uttarakhand and parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Moreover, this variety of wheat is suitable for cultivation using zero tillage method.
The specialty of Wheat HD 3226
The companies will be provided breeder seeds of this latest variety of wheat during the Rabi season. So, the seeds of this country will be made available to the farmers by the next. However, the number of seeds will be limited. It is worth noting that HD 3226 variety has been released recently. Its biggest feature is that it has more protein and gluten than all the wheat varieties of the present time. It contains 12.8 percent protein, 30.85 percent gluten and 36.8 percent zinc.
