A 10-Day Training Program on Dairy & Vermicompost Begins At ITI Rajouri

The government is launching several efforts to promote employment at the local level and a 10-day training program on Dairy& Vermicompost is one of those efforts.

The Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar, Tuesday started a ten-day dairy and vermicompost training program at ITI Rajouri. 

The training program is being organized by the Rural Self Employment Training Institute as part of the Unnati project. Among those in attendance were Director RSETI Raman Kumar, Principal ITI Rajouri Abdul Rashid, ITI officials, and trainees. 

It is important to mention that the Unnati project aims to teach unskilled MGNREGA workers to increase their skill base. 

Raman Kumar, Director of RSETI, said that the scheme is intended to teach one adult member (between the ages of 18 and 45) to every family who has completed 100 days of work under MGNREGA in the preceding fiscal year. He also stated that candidates are registered using their Aadhaar numbers. In his address to the trainees, the ADDC shed light on the Unnati project, stating that it gives skill training to current workers of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) intending to improve their abilities. 

In addition to emphasizing the aim of the training program, he stated that the government is launching several efforts to promote employment at the local level. 

The ADDC also advised the trainees to make the most of the training program and to not keep their new knowledge to themselves, but to share it with the rest of the adults of the district. 

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din, who is also the District Programme Coordinator of MGNREGA and engaged with the applicants who are undergoing skill training under the UNNATI program.

It was also reported that RSETI Kupwara had chosen 15 candidates for skill training, of which 6 had withdrawn and just 9 are now undergoing instruction as part of a 10-day orientation program. 

Meanwhile, the trainees acknowledged their satisfaction with the training program.
