The government is making continuous efforts to make the farmers self-reliant in India. The potential for income through fish farming is very high. Therefore, various schemes are being run by the government to promote fish farming. Bihar Government is providing free training to the people to encourage fish farming in the state. 

Under this scheme, training will be given “free of cost” to the fisherman & farmers on modern techniques of fish farming. So let us discuss how to apply for Free Fish Farming Training. 

Fish Farming Free Trainings  

The Bihar Government has taken an important step for expanding fisheries sector which will in turn reduce the unemployment rate in the state as well as increase the income of farmers. The Bihar Government has introduced free fish farming scheme for fish farmers and interested people in the area. Applications are invited for this training.  

Topics Covered Under Fisheries Training 

The free fishing training organized by the government will include lessons on biofloc technology and efficient management and operations of fish seed hatchery, ornamental fish farming as well as aquarium construction.  

Fishing Training Institutes 

Training related to fisheries has been done both within and outside the state.  The applicant can choose the training place as per his convenience. The list of institutes for training is as under - 

  • Fisheries Training & Dissemination Center, Mithapur, Patna

  • C.A.R. Patna Center

  • College of Fisheries, Dholi Muzaffarpur

  • College of Fisheries Kishanganj

List of Out State Training Institutions 

  • Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Kakinada

  • Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Saltek, Kolkata

  • Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute Barrackpore, Kolkata

  • Kendriya Matsyaki Shiksha Sansthan, Powerkheda

  • College of Fisheries Pantnagar

  • Central Freshwater Living Research Institute, Kaushalyaganga, (Bhubaneswar)

Facilities Provided Under Training 

Under this scheme, a training facility has been provided both within and outside Bihar. Expenses like round trip fare, accommodation, food and training fee etc. will be borne by the Bihar Government for receiving training. However, the route expenses will be given only to those who will receive this training outside the state. 

Eligibility for Free Fish Farming Training 

To avail the benefits of this scheme, certain eligibility has been prescribed by the Government, which is as under - 

  • Fish farmers or fishermen

  • Beneficiaries and applicants of various fisheries schemes 

  • Active member of Fisheries Cooperation Committee at block level

Fish Farming Training: How to apply? 

  • For free fishing training you must first visit its official website

  • On the home page you have to click on Registration under 'Application in Fisheries Schemes'

  • Now a form will open, enter all the information and create an account

  • You will receive user ID and password via an SMS on your registered mobile

  • Now you have to log in with your user ID and password and enter the name, address and place of training in the Fisheries Free Training Plan form and click on submit.

  • Now you can print this form for future reference.
