GADVASU organizes training programme on Reproductive Management of Dairy Animals

Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana (GADVASU) had organized a training programme on “Reproductive Management of Dairy Animals” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna Scheme at village Mushkabad,(Ludhiana).

Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana (GADVASU) had organized a training programme on “Reproductive Management of Dairy Animals” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna Scheme at village Mushkabad,(Ludhiana).

A total of 22 dairy farmers belonging to Scheduled Castes had participated in this programme. On this occasion, Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma HoD talked about the role of balanced nutrition in animal reproduction along with care of pregnant animals while Dr Khushpreet Singh of the same department highlighted tips for getting maximum results following artificial insemination. He also discussed common reproductive problems of dairy animals. Technical literature published by the university, mineral mixture bags, Uromin licks etc. were distributed to the beneficiary farmers free of cost as START-UP kits. This will help in the easy adoption of recommended practices. The department will organize more such training programmes in the coming weeks.

Dr Prakash Singh Brar, Director Extension Education conveyed that certain other departments of the University will also organize relevant training programmes in near future. This will help in uplifting the marginal livestock farmers of the state that exclusively belong to Scheduled Castes.
