Latest News! Now License is Mandatory To Keep Cows or Buffalos At Home
Officials said that without a license, no one will be allowed to keep more than one cow and calf in their home.
According to Rajasthan government, keeping cows or buffalos at home in urban areas will now require an annual license and a 100 square yard area. If the animals are found straying, a penalty of up to Rs 10,000 will be charged.
Officials claimed that without a license, no one will be allowed to keep more than one cow and calf in their home. A dedicated area for the cattle is also mandatory. The new regulations will apply to all sections of municipal corporations and councils.
How to apply for license
To apply for a license under the new rules, an applicant must submit details of the planned space for the cattle, as well as proof of sanitation and that keeping them will not cause any disruption.
An annual license fee of Rs 1,000 will be charged.
Educational, religious, and other public-interest organizations will be required to pay half of the total.
The license will be revoked if the number of animals exceeds a cow and calf. The officials also mentioned that it will be mandatory for the cattle to be tagged with the name and number of the owner.
The sale of cow fodder in public places will be prohibited unless a license is obtained. Unauthorized sales will be subject to a fine of Rs 500. A covered space of 170-200 square feet and an open area of 200-250 square feet will be needed to house cattle. The cattle owner is prohibited from engaging in any commercial activity, such as selling milk or any of the cattle's products.
In the event of a breach of sanitation, a fine of Rs 5,000 will be imposed. Every 10 days, the livestock owner will be responsible for disposing of cow dung outside the municipal area.
