Patanjali Endorses NRCC’s Efforts on Utility of Camel Milk for Human Health

A team of 95 Sanyasis, Acharyas & Brahmacharis of Patanjali Yogpeeth Haridwar visited the ICAR-National Research Center on Camel in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The team was briefed about the research activities undertaken by NRCC and also about different activities during their visit to Camel farm.

Dairy Technology & Processing Unit, outdoor tourism development activities and facilities like camel ridding, safari, camel decoration, camel dance and camel sports besides indoor and outdoor museum.

On the other hand, a team of 312 Scout teachers from all Kendriya Vidyalayas of the Jaipur division was also educated about the mandate and different activities undertaken by the premier center on camel production & development.

During the visit, they interacted with the Director, Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo on the therapeutic utility of camel milk in various human ailments like diabetes, tuberculosis, and autism related disorders.

The unique nutraceutical properties of camel milk and its hypoallergenic nature, and its role in immunity helps patients recover faster from illness and thus the ‘Ship of the Desert’ may also be referred to as 'Store-House of Medicine'.

They were also appraised of different delicious value-added products developed from camel milk which can pave way for its outreach to other Indian states and fetch revenue for camel breeders. Efforts of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar were hailed for popularizing the medicinal value of camel milk for human health. Among the other livelihood activities cottage industries related to wool, skin, bone, etc., also attract artisans due to the demand of products among tourists.

Patanjali's team representative Swami (Dr.) Parmarth Dev and representatives from different states endorsed their view to increasing the number of camel to increase the availability and acceptability of milk for human health, which would in return, help camel owners and involved-chain of people to sustain their livelihood and improve the usefulness of animal in the society.
