Protection of Crops from Wild Animals

The ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan (VPKAS), Almora, Uttarakhand organized a Farmers’-Scientists’ Press Meet on “Protection of Crops from Wild Animals”.

The ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan (VPKAS), Almora, Uttarakhand organized a Farmers’-Scientists’ Press Meet on “Protection of Crops from Wild Animals”.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Arunava Pattanayak, Director, ICAR-VPKAS stressed on the importance and need of Agri Canon Gun and Bio-acoustic System for crop protection from wild animals.

Dr. Vasudeo Rao, Head, All India Network Project on Vertebrate Pest Management, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Hyderabad stated that the demonstration of the instruments along with fruit grader developed by the institute was carried out in the presence of, farmers and scientists of the Institute.

Dr. R.S. Tripathi, Network Coordinator, All India Network Project on Vertebrate Pest Management, ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur regarded the farmers, scientists and media personnel as the three main pillars of the society responsible for collaborative development of agricultural technologies.

The meet was organized with an objective to demonstrate the use of Agri Canon Gun and Bio-acoustic System for protecting the crops from wild animals, especially, monkeys, wild boars etc.
