A one day International Workshop on “Extrusion Technology: A Way Forward to Processing and Nutritional Interventions” concluded at the Department of Livestock Products Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana on Thursday. This workshop was organized in collaboration with KK Lifesciences, Chennai. Dr. H.K. Verma, Director Extension Education, GADVASU inaugurated the workshop and said that the use of extrusion technology for the development of meat-based snack foods and pet foods will help in developing the entrepreneurs.

A one day International Workshop on “Extrusion Technology: A Way Forward to Processing and Nutritional Interventions” concluded at the Department of Livestock Products Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana on Thursday. This workshop was organized in collaboration with KK Lifesciences, Chennai. Dr. H.K. Verma, Director Extension Education, GADVASU inaugurated the workshop and said that the use of extrusion technology for the development of meat-based snack foods and pet foods will help in developing the entrepreneurs.

Dr. Manish Kumar Chatli, Organizing secretary, Dr. O.P. Malav, Joint Organizing Secretary of this workshop informed that 13 faculty members and 67 postgraduate students from PAU and GADVASU participated in this workshop. Five theory and two practical hands-on-training sessions were conducted related to Nutritional manipulations for the development of pet foods, Status and Scope of Meat Based Extruded Human and Pet Foods, Extrusion: a method of food processing, Novel Snack Food Product Development, and Market Launch. Preparation of meat-based extruded snack foods and pet foods. Dr. AS Nanda, Vice-Chancellor GADVASU congratulated the organizers for this endeavor and hoped that it will result in productive research in meat science.
