What you should be aware of before travelling as a solo female traveller

Today, with so many facilities available to travel easily, women can move about on their own, commuting not just to and fro from work but also to various places for sightseeing. You can reach the UK quickly for such tours through British Airways Booking.

Travelling to exotic destinations is indeed exciting, and you can keep sending videos of places that you have visited to family members back home. However, as a solo female traveller, you need to be cautious so that you are not caught unawares by difficult situations. Here are some tips on how to travel safely as a solo female traveller:

  • You are bound to use the public transport system from time to time, but you have to be careful about your luggage. Leave it lying on the floor unattended for even five minutes, and you can find it lost due to theft.
  • Opt for popular sightseeing tours that are usually frequented by travellers like yourself or people with families. This will give you a nice group to travel with to the destination, and you can have a fun time with them sightseeing, shopping, and eating.
  • Pack light, as it helps to easily move the luggage from one point to another at the destination. Wear clothes that are casual and shoes that are comfortable so that you can easily mingle with the crowd and move safely from one place to another. Avoid bold clothing colours and striking jewellery, as this can get you unnecessary attention.
  • Make it a point to put a lock on the bags that you are carrying when you shop. You will certainly be using a slightly large bag, as you will not just want to carry money or cards but also some personal identification details and personal items that might be needed. Avoid losing them with a small padlock and keep the key in a neck wallet.
  • Stay connected with people back at home using a local SIM or portable Wi-Fi. As you sightsee, send pictures and keep people informed about your travels. It’s a matter of safety to let people at home know where you are and that they can always reach you through a call or WhatsApp.
  • Don’t stand alone on an empty platform or carriage, as this makes you more vulnerable to attacks. Always keep yourself standing next to a group close by, or two or three people, as this is a sure way of being safe. If any information is needed, you can quickly ask people around.
  • Various travel documents must be kept safely in a folder that you always keep an eye on. These will be your passport, flight tickets, insurance papers, medical files, etc. They must be in one place, with digital copies available online in a cloud, Google Drive, or emailed to your account, where you can always access them as and when needed or downloaded.
  • Always have your phone charged and working in top condition. It is your key means of accessing people and finding out information such as places to see, shop, visit for sightseeing, etc., as and when you need it. Charging it can be done with a good power bank.
  • Whenever a stranger asks a question, generally answer, and if you are not aware of the details being asked, politely tell them you don’t know. Some people can be annoying when communicating, but your response must always be polite, as this does not create a scene around you when you are travelling, calling attention unnecessarily to you.

With a British Airways booking, you can quickly arrive at London’s Heathrow Airport for an adventurous sightseeing tour. You can further continue the journey with a similar booking from London to any destination in Europe and continue your sole travel tours. Follow the necessary safety precautions so that you have a fine time exploring the many places that you want to sightsee.
