Agri-tech is the use of technology in agriculture that is created to increase productivity and profitability. Agri-tech is prominent in forestry, aquaculture, and viticulture but is most frequently used in horticulture and agriculture. Let’s know more about the major agritech companies in India.

Cropin

Cropin links farming with corporate resource planning, business information, and agriculture. They offer their services using a smartphone application that enables data-driven farming among farmers and landowners. By providing the infrastructure they require to maximize their agricultural potential and launch their enterprises, Cropin supports farmers.

The organization monitors the farms using big data analytics and artificial intelligence technologies. Monitoring of the land also makes use of geotagging and satellite pictures.

BigHaat

Farmers can exchange information and learn about all aspects of agriculture on BigHaat, an online platform. This enterprise provides a wide range of products and services, including advice on crop nutrition and farming.

For farmers and agricultural owners, BigHaat acts as a global market and a reference center. They provide field help as well as upkeep and repair services for farm machinery. In addition, it has developed KisanVedika, a platform with Microsoft that enables local language speakers to answer questions and solve issues.

Bijak

A network that links buyers and sellers of agricultural goods is called Bijak. It functions as both an accounting program and a way to keep track of all of your financial transactions and purchases in one convenient place. In addition to fostering trade between buyers and sellers, Bijak provides financial aid for the purchase of agricultural goods.

By providing buyers and sellers with substantial working capital and enhanced logistics, this agritech company simplifies transactions. Bijak enables immediate supplier payments and prompt loan disbursements. It has a network that comprises more than 100 agricultural products and is available in 27 different cities and union regions.

Farm2Fam

Farm2Fam delivers organic food directly to customers, as the name suggests. This ensures that consumers will only obtain fresh food that hasn't been grown with pesticides or herbicides.

The startup Farm2Fam serves a little over 300 consumers each month. However, it satisfies the needs of a group of customers who are willing to spend more for foods of the best quality. They presently use technology to improve the supply chain and conventional agricultural practices to provide specialized nutritional products for consumers.

Ninjacart

Ninjacart is a well-known supplier of agricultural supply chains in India. 60 tonnes of fruits and vegetables are now transported from the farm to the market in less than 12 hours as opposed to more than 14. One of Ninjacart's goals is to accelerate the delivery of farm-fresh goods to shops.

More than 2,000 farmers in Bengaluru receive help from Ninjacart every day as they sell 80 different types of fruits and vegetables to more than 800 different stores and restaurants. They claim that they have overall cut supply chain waste by 4%.

Ergos

The Ergos platform facilitates communication between farmers and owners of cold storage facilities by using a mobile platform. One of the biggest problems facing Indian farmers is the lack of cold storage facilities. After harvest, Ergos takes part in supply chain management.

There is a lot of food waste in India since many farmers there lack access to cold storage. Because their crops are yielding less, these farmers frequently have to reduce their prices in order to make ends meet. The Ergos system enables farmers to store their grain in "grain banks," or financial institutions. Farmers can take out as little as one bag of grain at a time if necessary.

Fasal

Fasal makes forecasts about farming using artificial intelligence and data analytics. It has helped farmers conserve more than 3 billion liters of water when it first started. Fasal makes deliberate decisions in an effort to enhance sustainable farming practices. In addition, it lowers farming costs and increases harvests.

Fasal, a provider of agricultural intelligence, is well-known in the field. It provides microclimatic forecasts, pest and disease forecasts, and irrigation warnings directly to cell phones using its unique technology. Fasal provides information on pests and diseases, hyperlocal weather forecasts, and financial management by maximizing the use of fertilizer and insecticides.
