Moong And Urad Procurement Reaches 61,000 MT

The government agency NAFED India has procured over 61,000 metric tons of Moong and Urad at minimum support price (MSP), in the ongoing kharif marketing season. Agri-cooperative has procured 61,096 metric tons of Moong and Urad as on November 20 in the ongoing kharif marketing season, it consist of 36,343 metric tons of Moong and 24,753 tons of Urad.

The government agency NAFED India has procured over 61,000 metric tons of Moong and Urad at minimum support price (MSP), in the ongoing Kharif marketing season. Agri-cooperative has procured 61,096 metric tons of Moong and Urad as on November 20 in the ongoing Kharif marketing season, it consist of 36,343 metric tons of Moong and 24,753 tons of Urad. However, the pace of buying is very slow due to poor arrivals in the spot markets as farmers are reluctant to sell their produce amid payment uncertainty. The procurement of Moong was made at the minimum support price level of Rs 5,225/100kg (including Rs 425/100kg bonus), whereas Urad is sourced above the MSP level. Rajasthan was among the major beneficiary as the agency has sourced the highest quantity of Moong and Urad from the state. The agency has sourced 27,624 metric tons of Moong and 7,386 metric tons of Urad from the state.
