Biofertilizers Specifications Amended under FCO 1985

The Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare has notified amends to the FCO 1985 with respect to analysis reporting time frames and specifications of biofertilizers.  

Issuance of Laboratory Testing Reports 

The notification lays down that the notified testing laboratory’s shall analyse samples and forward the analysis report to the authority within a specified period as: 

(a) in case of fertiliser, other than biofertilizer, organic fertilizer and de oiled cake fertilizer, the analyzing report shall be in Form L and forwarded within fifteen days; 

(b) in case of the sample of organic fertilizer, the analysis report shall be in Form L1, and forwarded within thirty days; 

(c) in case of biofertilizer, the analysis report shall be in Form L2 and forwarded within forty-five days; 

(d) in case of deoiled cake fertilizer, the analysis report shall be in Form L3 and forwarded within thirty days from the date of receipt of sample in the laboratory. 

Biofertilizers Specifications Amended 

Specifications of the following biofertilizers have been amended and re-notified: 

• Rhizobium

• Azotobacter

• Azospirillium

• Phosphate Solubilising Bactieria

• Mycorrhizal Biofertilizers

• Potassium Mobilising Biofertilizers (KMB)

• Zinc Solubilising Bacteria

• Carrier Based Consortia

• Liquid Consortia

• Phosphate Solubilising Fungal Biofertilizers
