Government is Providing 55% Subsidy on Various Irrigation Equipment

The Central Government provides financial assistance at 55 percent of the indicative unit cost to the farmers and at 45 percent to other cultivators for encouraging them to install Drip and Sprinkler Irrigation systems under the Per Drop More Crop scheme to enhance the coverage.

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) has launched Per Drop More Crop component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY-PDMC) from 2015-16 in all the states in India. The scheme focuses on enhancing water use efficiency at farm level through Micro Irrigation viz. Drip as well as Sprinkler irrigation systems.

Government Offers 55% Subsidy on Drip & Sprinklers

The Central Government provides subsidy or financial assistance at 55 percent of the indicative unit cost to the farmers and at 45 percent to other cultivators for encouraging them to install Drip and Sprinkler Irrigation systems under the Per Drop More Crop scheme to enhance the coverage.

Additionally, some States provide additional incentives or top-up subsidy to reduce farmers’ share for the adoption of Micro Irrigation. Till now, total 1, 85,235 farmers have benefited from the scheme in Uttar Pradesh.

The subsidy is released to the farmers electronically through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

What is the objective/motto of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana?

Launched on 1 July 2015 with the motto of "Har Khet Ko Paani", the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) is being implemented to expand the cultivated area with assured irrigation, reduce wastage of water and improve water use efficiency.

Documents Needed for Subsidy

Farmers must have - Aadhar Card, a Photocopy of the first page of bank passbook, caste certificate, proof of electricity connection like electricity bill, mobile number for OTP.

How to apply for PM Sinchai Yojana?

Farmers can apply either online or offline – below we have mentioned both the methods.

Offline Process;

You can visit the nearest Office of Agricultural Department or District Agriculture Officer/ District Horticulture Officer.
