Imagine the photograph of an egg taking the internet by a storm, and create a World Record as the Most Liked Picture on Instagram. “An egg is just an egg!” says the man who clicked the picture. True that an egg is an egg with amazing health benefits, one of the cheapest and best source of nutrition.

Eggs can certainly be a superfood. Recommended Dietary/Daily Allowance (RDA) is the amount of nutrient and calorie intake per day considered necessary for the maintenance of good health.

A single large boiled egg contains-

  • Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA

  • Folate: 5% of the RDA

  • Vitamin B5: 7% of the RDA

  • Vitamin B12: 9% of the RDA

  • Vitamin B2: 15% of the RDA

  • Phosphorus: 9% of the RDA

  • Selenium: 22% of the RDA

  • Eggs also contain decent amounts of vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, vitamin B6, calcium and zinc

Eggs must occupy a place on your plate because they are incredibly good. Eggs are proved to be-

Rich in Omega – 3 acids

Whole eggs contain a little bit of almost every nutrient you need. Omega-3 enriched or pastured eggs are even healthier. Omega-3 fatty acids reduce blood levels of triglycerides, a well-known risk factor for heart diseases.

Have Good Cholesterol

Eating eggs can help you to increase the High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) or Good Cholesterol. Consuming 2 eggs a day can help to increase HDL level by 10%.

Lower risk of Heart Diseases

LDL present in the egg is confused as bad cholesterol. However, there are two sub types of the same: large and small. Small LDL is much more harmful than large LDL and the egg consumption appears to change the pattern of LDL particles from small to large, which is linked to a reduced heart disease risk.

Contain Quality Proteins and Essential Minerals

Who doesn’t like a protein rich diet! An egg is rich in proteins. It also contains amino acids that further help with proteins in the body. Minerals like iron, zinc, and phosphorus are present in eggs in great amounts and can help in maintaining your health.

Beneficial for Eyes

Rich in Vitamin A, eggs are really good for the yes. Also, two powerful antioxidants present in the eggs are lutein and zeaxanthin which reduce the risk of most common eye disorders, cataracts and muscular degeneration.

Improve Brain Health

Good brain, good life! Eggs contain most of the right vitamins and minerals needed for regular functioning of cells, memory, nervous system and metabolism.

When the world celebrates the picture of an egg, let’s celebrate our health with it.
