Curd, with its creamy texture and health benefits, is a delightful addition to meals loaded with calcium, vitamin B-12, vitamin B-2, magnesium, and potassium which is also easy to digest!

However, it's important to be aware that curd should not be combined with certain food items, as it can have adverse effects on your health. Here we have listed some food items that should not be consumed together with curd.

1. Mango- Indulging in a bowl of curd with diced mangoes as a dessert choice may seem tempting, but it's important to be cautious. Combining mango and curd can create imbalances of heat and cold in the body, potentially leading to various issues such as skin problems and toxin accumulation.

2. Milk- The simultaneous consumption of milk and curd, both being animal protein sources, should be avoided. Pairing these two can become an unpleasant digestive experience such as diarrhoea, acidity, and gas formation.

3. Fish- It is commonly advised to avoid combining two protein-rich sources together. It is best to pair a vegetarian protein source with an animal protein source, rather than combining two vegetarian sources or two non-vegetarian sources. Curd, being derived from animal milk, and fish, being a non-vegetarian protein-rich source, should not be consumed together. Doing so can result in indigestion and various stomach-related problems.

4. Oily Foods- Indulging curd in ghee-laden paranthas is a favourite for many. However, the combination of oily fried foods with dahi can have a negative impact on digestion, leading to a lethargic feeling. That is the reason why consuming chole bhature along with a glass of lassi, made from dahi, often induces drowsiness.

5. Urad Dal- When the curd is consumed together with urad dal, it can disrupt digestion over time, resulting in symptoms like gas, acidity, bloating, and even diarrhoea.
