Diwali is celebrated on the new moon day of Kartik month. This year, Diwali is falling on November 14, 2020. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshipped on this festival and it is believed that worshipping mother Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on Deepawali bring peace, progress and prosperity. It also marks the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile and therefore returns of Lord Ram to Ayodhya is widely celebrated across the nation. So this was all about the history and significance of Diwali, now we will talk about some special dishes or desserts that are prepared on this day.

Here are 5 sweets dishes to make your Diwali special:

Puffed rice with jaggery

You can surprise your foodie friends and relatives with Ladoo prepared with puffed rice and jaggery, along with other sweets. All these three items will be found at any grocery store, Namkeen and Sweet Shop. Apart from being tasty, they also protect from many winter diseases. At the beginning of the winter season, the intake of these Ladoo help to keep the body infection-free.

Fruit and Nut Ladoo

It is a healthy Indian Diwali sweet recipe and can always make healthy snacks/sweets too if we wish. This fruit and nuts Ladoo are particularly rich in iron and have all the other health benefits you need as well.

Coconut Milk Rice Pudding

It is one of our favourite healthy dessert dishes as it recreates traditional rice halwa with healthy ingredients. You can make this healthy rice pudding with coconut milk using brown rice instead of milk and white rice.

Dates

Dates are a delicious and excellent choice of all kinds of sweets. You can make your loved ones sweet this Diwali with the seedless dates coming in packets. There are many types of dates available in the market. These include crushed, some unripe and seedless dates. You can choose anything according to your choice and budget.

Chikki

If you are not giving sweets, you are giving your friends any other item they need and want to give something sweet with it, then you can opt for Chikki prepared from jaggery and peanuts. Because this Chikki is as delicious as it is in food. It is equally beneficial in terms of health.

Let's celebrate the festival in the true sense by spreading joy and light up the world of others. Have a happy, safe and blessed Diwali 2020!!
