So, What makes GARLIC GLORIOUS ?

Garlic, Lahsun, is an important condiment in India. It adds a distinctive and lavish taste to which-ever preparation, especially to the dishes which are not vegetarian.

Garlic, Lahsun, is an important condiment in India. It adds a distinctive and lavish taste to which-ever preparation, especially to the dishes which are not vegetarian.  When raw it has a failry unpleasant odour, but when cooked it has a sweetish, delicious taste. But other than taste, It adds a lot more to your diet. Having being recognised as herb having hidden treasure, we bring forward few of the interesting facts which might change your prospective about garlic, if you already don’t like(love) it.  There are many allegory associated with this spice and here those has been concised in 5 bullets :

=> Garlic is a rich source of Allicin, Vitamin A,B,C & E and Amino acids. These Vitamins  keeps your vision sharp, teeth healthy,  skin glowing and immune system intact.  Protein plays a crucial role in almost all biological processes and amino acids are the building blocks of it. A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids, meaning they carry out many important bodily functions, such as giving cells their structure.

=> If you are a movie buff, and bollywood is your thing, You might have seen in many horror movies, that garlic is used to scare spirits when a ghost enters the premises or surrounding of the protagonist. Well, Villagers in some part of India believe it to be a source to drive away evil spirits and hang it in and around their houses. => The physiological activity of garlic is attributed to Allicin, which is an organo-sulphate compound, responsible for anti-microbial and antiviral properties.

=> Having anti-bacterial properties, Garlic clove is stuffed in the ears, to cure ear-aches.

=> The oil of garlic is used against skin rashes. It can also be used for reducing lipids and to relieve joints pain. The juice is used for epilepsy as well.

So, don’t forget to include this little wonder in your diet to stay away from avoidable diseases and discomfort.
