Agritech Factory-to-farm start-up Faarms has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), a CPSE under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, to leverage the network of warehouses for delivering quality farm needs to the small & marginal farmers at their doorstep

Through this collaboration, FAARMS will have access to 422 warehouses across India that will help the company to deliver seeds, agrochemicals, biofertilizers, poultry and cattle feed to the farmers in the interior’s parts on time.

“Faarms is doing amazing work on the ground in understanding the real problems of the farming community by catering 360-degree solutions of doorstep deliver, educating the farmers on various crop and cattle related issues to spreading digital literacy, thereby aiming to double the income of the farmers by 2024. It gives us immense pleasure to announce our collaboration with Faarms that will benefit the small and marginal farmers of our country in a big way”, said Amit Kumar Singh Director (M&CP) of Central Warehousing Corporation.

“Our association with CWC will take us a step closer to achieving our dream of building an e-marketplace for the farming community of our country with the idea to help a farmer purchase input from some of the best-known brands in the world, sitting at home”, says veteran rural banker Taranbir Singh, Co-founder & CEO Faarms, who was heading Rural Banking Division at Yes Bank, prior to joining Faarms.

“We are on an aggressive expansion mode and we aim to reach out to 70,000 villages across the country by end of this year. We are thankful to CWC for extending their support to Faarms and let us use 422 warehouses which is crucial for the last mile delivery of farm inputs to a large number of farmers in the remotest of the villages”, says Alok Duggal, Co-founder & COO of Faarms.
