Anand Mahindra Awarded Padma Bhushan

Government recently announced that Chairman of Mahindra group, Anand Mahindra will receive Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor for his contribution to the field of trade & industry.

Government recently announced that Chairman of Mahindra group, Anand Mahindra will receive Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor for his contribution to the field of trade & industry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a tweet congratulated all Padma award winners. He wrote "Congratulations to all those who have been conferred with the Padma Awards. The awardees include extraordinary individuals who have made exceptional contributions to our society, nation & humanity."

Responding to PM's tweet, Anand Mahindra said -  "Sir, thank you for recognizing our Rise philosophy -trying to do well and do good. There’s an old saying - If you see a turtle on top of a fence, you know for sure it didn’t get there on its own! I stand on the shoulders of all Mahindraites. I will convey your compliments to them!"

It is important to mention that Anand Mahindra has played a big role in expanding the Mahindra group. He took over as the Deputy Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in the year 1991 and then he became the Chairman of the group in 2012.

It was under his leadership that Mahindra's automotive section got expanded and the company made several partnerships with international brands in the automobile segment.

Anand Mahindra is also well known for his charitable work.
