Harvesting India Pvt Ltd Forays into Branded Agriculture-Based Products
HFN Branded products are made from agricultural produce grown by farmers in the HFN ecosystem, allowing small scale farmers to capture a greater share of the value chain in agriculture.
Harvesting India Pvt Ltd, India's leading agriculture technology platform, announced the launch of its Harvesting Farmer Network (HFN) branded agriculture-based products today. The first branded product to enter the market would be "HFN" mustard oil. Following this would be whole wheat flour, refined wheat flour, semolina, porridge, and many more.
HFN agricultural products are made from high-quality agricultural produce sourced from small-scale farmers in India. HFN assists farmers in growing a carefully selected variety of carefully chosen seeds and a package of practice, resulting in exceptional output. Raw produce is cleaned, sorted, graded, and processed before being packed into durable, environmentally friendly packaging in a variety of SKUs.
Another significant milestone was the signing of an MoU between HFN and GRM Overseas Ltd. GRM will be supplied with 20,000 MT of paddy, 12,000 MT of wheat, and 5,000 MT of mustard by HFN. GRM is one of the country's leading consumer staples companies. The MoU is expected to assist farmers in better planning their crops throughout the year, increasing yield and earning a significantly high monetary value.
Speaking at the launch of the branded products, Ruchit Garg, Founder & CEO, HFN said, “In the 1960s, we saw how the Green Revolution changed the Indian farming industry. Similarly, we now aim to bring the next big revolution for the non-dairy farmers in the country by providing a 360-degree solution under one roof, right from seed procurement to selling the final product so that the farmers get the maximum monetary benefit.”
On the MoU signing with GRM Overseas Ltd, Ruchit Garg said, “We are super excited to partner with GRM Overseas Ltd. It’s a testament of the grassroots level work HFN is doing with small-scale farmers. This partnership will allow us to further drive our mission to enable 120 million small-scale farmers in India.”
He also stated that HFN is working to establish farmer cooperatives and believes that cooperatives are critical to inclusive, sustainable, and profitable growth for small-scale farmers. Furthermore, providing cooperative skills to the rural population can be a significant step in the right direction because cooperatives have a lot of potential for addressing the unemployment problem.
Sharing his views on the MoU, Atul Garg, Managing Director, GRM Overseas Ltd said, “By adding additional staple products to our portfolio and keeping our promise to customers to only offer them the highest quality goods, this partnership will help us broaden our reach in the market. With HFN agreeing to market and sell our products on their platform and Kisan stores, it will help us improve our brand presence and value amongst the rural areas of the country. To make sure that our customers can access our products, we will implement strict and proactive quality control methods.
The HFN network has a large farmer base throughout the country, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. Farmers from North-East states such as Nagaland, Assam, and Mizoram, on the other hand, have shown incredible resilience in recent years.
HFN provides a platform for collective bargaining for small farmers, allowing them to increase their income. Farmers can scale and expand their businesses by utilizing HFN's trusted platform to purchase high-quality and reasonably priced farm inputs, gain access to financial services such as loans and insurance, and sell their crops to domestic and international customers. These luxuries are usually associated with large-scale farms.
