Leading agrochemical producer, Insecticides India Limited (IIL) launched its new combination product with brand name “ENCOUNTER” that will strengthen the company’s presence in the Tea market and aims at effective control of looper and Tea Mosquito bug.

In order to make this product widely available, Insecticides (India) launched this product jointly with Indofil Industries Limited who will market this product in their own brand name “NIKHAR”.

Tea gardens in Assam are particularly susceptible to lepidopteron and sucking pests such as looper and tea mosquito bug that considerably affected the crop in the past years.

“Assam is India’s biggest tea-producing region and accounts for about 55 percent of the total annual production. The hot and humid climatic conditions suitable for tea are also conducive to the growth of insects. Therefore a new generation, effective and safer product for the control is what the tea estate managers look for. This new product is a patented* combination product of two molecules and it has been developed by the R&D team of Insecticides (India), which provides an excellent control due to its synergistic effect which helps the planters for better production. We are also delighted to share the molecule with Indofil Industries Limited exclusively, which will help to make the wide availability of the product. We look forward to a good acceptability of the product in this market.” says Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, M.D., Insecticides (India) Limited.
