Infosys sets up Covid centers for its employees and their families.
The second largest IT services company of India, Infosys has set up Covid care centers at Bengaluru and Pune for its employees and their families. The company is in the process of establishing similar facilities at its major offices across the country.
India is badly hit with the second wave of Covid-19. This has put immense pressure on healthcare services of the country. The cases are spirally high this time. This has led to many hospitals under acute shortage of oxygen supply and beds. Amidst such a grim situation, Infosys has come forward to do their bit for their staff.
Infosys statement regarding Covid care
An excerpt from an e-mailed statement from the company, “"In order to support employees and their family members who have contracted COVID-19 and need special medical care beyond home quarantine, Infosys has set up Employee COVID Care Centres in Pune and Bengaluru. These centres would be managed by Ruby Hall hospital for Pune, and Manipal Hospitals for Bengaluru,"
The letter also said, “At present, we continue to operate in a remote model across our offices and see no impact on our client deliverables due to the health situation.”
Tie-up with labs
Infosys has also collaborated with providers of emergency ambulances and with Covid-10 testing labs in every major city. It has partnered with 1490 hospitals in 242 cities across the country to facilitate treatment for its employees and their families.
The company has declared that it has set up vaccination centers for its employees and their families at a few of its campuses throughout the country by collaborating with healthcare partners. Now, it is collaborating with more than 130 hospitals of the country for its staff to get vaccinated.
As per a statement by Infosys official, “Infosys welcomes the decision by the government to open up vaccination for all adults in India. Our teams are working with our medical partners to accelerate the vaccination programme to cover our employees as early as possible. We are in discussions with healthcare providers as well as vaccine suppliers to help us in this endeavor.”
