PowerGrid Provides Relief Material worth Rs 1 crore & Advanced Life Support Ambulance to Hospitals

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, which is the Central Transmission Utility of India, has pledged to provide relief material worth Rs 1 crore to the Gurugram administration to assist the government in the combat against the COVID-19 pandemic. In its first batch, 1000 packets of ration were provided to the Gurugram administration.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, which is the Central Transmission Utility of India, has pledged to provide relief material worth Rs 1 crore to the Gurugram administration to assist the government in the combat against the COVID-19 pandemic. In its first batch, 1000 packets of ration were provided to the Gurugram administration. 

The company has completed provided four Advanced Life Support Ambulances to the government hospitals in Haryana. Through Haryana CSR Advisory Board, these four ambulances have been provided for assistance to government hospitals in the regions including Faridabad, Palwal, and Nuh districts during COVID-19. 

These ambulances were flagged off by R. P. Sinha, Senior General Manager (HR), North Zone-I of PowerGrid. On this occasion, Mr. Gaurav Singh, the CEO of the Haryana CSR Advisory Board was also present. During the event, social distancing norms were completely followed. 

The company has contributed Rs 200 crores to the PM Cares Fund to support India's fight against the Coronavirus. The company staff has also given up their one-day salary as aid money. PowerGrid is distributing food items as well as masks, soaps, sanitizers all over the country among the lower-income groups of the society facing difficulties during the lockdown. 

PowerGrid is also arranging medical supplies, medicines, PPE, and ventilators in various affected areas in collaboration with the district administration and the Red Cross. About 1562 MT ration/food items and PPE kits, masks, soaps, sanitizers, etc. have been distributed to a total of 1,84,853 beneficiaries at more than 276 locations across the country. 

As part of preparations to deal with the outbreak of COVID-19, a backup plan has been prepared for the operation and maintenance of all sub-stations of PowerGrid to ensure uninterrupted power supply and to ensure 24x7 power supply across the country.
