Samunnati looks to Strengthen Leadership & Talent in 2022 to Accelerate Expansion ahead ff Series E Fundraise

Samunnati, an agri-value chain enabler, and India’s largest Agri enterprise announced its plans to strengthen leadership & talent in 2022, aligned to its plan of doubling down on its offerings across the Agri value chain to impact 1 in every 4 farming households by 2027.

Samunnati at present has over 611 employees, out of which 25% are women and intends to bolster it further by adding 20% more talent in 2022 with close to 100 open positions across functions. Samunnati’s growth has been on a strong upward trajectory over the last 18 months and recently unlocked a 10,000 Crores Gross Transactional Value mark across its Agri commerce and Agri finance business.

Serving the entire value chain, Samunnati’s Agri Commerce and Agri Finance solutions enable affiliated Farmer Collectives and the larger ecosystem to be more efficient and productive through multiple technology-enabled interventions and collaborative partnerships.

In the last one year, Samunnati has strengthened its leadership with strategic hiring. Lalit Malik has joined Samunnati as Group Revenue Head. He comes with 28 years of global experience in strategy, finance, analytics, design, and development of processes/systems and commercial functions. Raghavan HKN, has joined Samunnati as Head- Of farmer Collectives. With 35+ years of experience is a veteran in financial management with deep insights into the microfinance industry in India. Raghavan at Samunnati will lead partnerships across farmer collectives.

With over 25 years of experience in IT, Digital, and Supply Chain, Sriram Raghavendran has also joined as Head - Of innovations at Samunnati. In his role, Sriram will drive innovation within the organization and partner with the ecosystem to incubate breakthrough ideas into tech and data-led solutions and services with the objective of positively transforming the Agri Ecosystem.

Taking on the role of heading Policy Advocacy and External Affairs, Raghavan Sampathkumar has also joined the ranks at Samunnati with over 18 years of experience working across APAC in various sectors such as agri-inputs, protein (animal & plant), and biotechnology. Prerana Desai also joined Samunnati this year as Head of Research.

Prerana brings on board over 12 years of exclusive Agri research experience, having led marque teams of agronomists in her previous roles. Suresh Venkatesan joined Samunnati leadership as Group Head - Systems & Processes.

Suresh is a veteran in the industry with over 29 years of experience in managing large programs in IT services and banking captives and would focus on enhancing Samunnati’s tech layer.

Samunnati’s team and advisors bring a collective experience of more than 600+ years across agriculture, banking IT, governance, diversity, and policy.  It is headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and has a presence in more than 100 agri value chains spread over 22 states in India.
