Sonalika Tractors Disburses 20-day Interim Salaries and Wages to its Employees during the Coronavirus Pandemic
A leading tractor manufacturer, Sonalika Tractors has paid its employees and associates on its plant and offices 20-day interim salaries amidst coronavirus crisis prevailing across the world to encourage their staff and combat the pandemic. With this, the company has joined the league of Hero MotoCorp and others to empower its people.

The company has assured its employees that the rest of the payment will be done after the period of the lockdown is over. The tractor manufacturing company has discontinued the production till 31st March 2020 and has recommended all its employees who have office-based roles to work from home.
According to a report, Raman Mittal, Executive Director, Sonalika Group said, “We are amid a global pandemic. At this time, we will go the extra mile to support our employees and their families. We have decided to ensure full wages to all our contractual workmen, ad-hoc staff, apprentices and trainees across our plants, businesses, and offices during the lockdown tenure.”
Sonalika Tractors is a renowned name in the field of tractor manufacturing and is the third-largest tractor manufacturer of the country. The company employs approximately 10,000 employees, the number includes all the permanent and contract workers while the plants of the company can produce three-lakh tractors annually.
“We have released an advance salary of 20 days for March to all Sonalika employees for them to manage possible exigencies,” added Mittal.
The whole country has been locked down till March 31 due to the contagious pandemic. The economy is gearing up for a situation of the great depression which is likely to happen as the global economy is suffering. Meanwhile, Sonalika Tractors anticipates its monthly production to go down by approximately 20-25 percent.
“The biggest concern is our export markets, as everything is affecting the shipping lines that are affecting bigger shipments more. Also, next month production will be affected as there will be supply chain disruptions and other issues” said Mittal.
