TAFE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC), an autonomous society promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, to provide farmers of FPOs supported by SFAC with access to farm mechanisation and implements via JFarm Services (JFS).
SFAC was a pioneer in organizing small and marginal farmers into Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Farmers Producers Companies (FPCs) (FPC).
It serves as a platform for increasing the accessibility and lower cost of agricultural inputs for small and marginal farmers, as well as for establishing forward and backward supply chain linkages.
Through JFarm Services, TAFE offers a Farmer to Farmer (F2F) custom hiring digital platform, with the goal of increasing farm mechanization penetration and benefiting small and marginal farmers across India.
SFAC and TAFE will collaborate to enable farmer members of FPOs to access farm mechanization services on a rental basis through JFS.
