110th All India Farmers’ Fair & Agro-Industrial Exhibition Starts in Pantnagar

The most-awaited event, the All India Farmers’ Fair & Agro-Industrial Exhibition finally starts today (7th October 2021) at Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.

The most-awaited event, the All India Farmers’ Fair & Agro-Industrial Exhibition finally starts today (7th October 2021) at Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.

The four-day exhibition, organized by G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology is likely to attract a large number of agro-industrial firms and farmers.

Ravi Kiran Saini, a progressive farmer of village Raipur Bhagwanpur, Haridwar, has inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at Gandhi Maidan. In the fair, more than 200 stalls have been made for the farmers.

Dr. Tej Pratap, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Director Extension Education, Dr. AS Nain, Director Research and Dr. SK Bansal, Director Communications are being given a tour of the fair along with an overview of the garden exhibition held in the fair. At the same time, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Director Extension visited the full premise. In the fair, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and various firms of national and international repute will exhibit their products and techniques.

In the fair, small machines and equipments of farm mechanization suitable to hilly areas will be showcased by the university and many other firms. Information regarding scientific methods of Kharif paddy, maize, tur, moong, urad, soybean and vegetables etc. from the university will also be displayed. Under this, the farmers will be made aware and encouraged.

Proven and certified high yielding varieties of major Rabi crops like wheat, gram, peas, barley, lentils, rapeseed, mustard and vegetables is available for sale. Apart from this, plants and seeds of vegetables, flowers, medicinal and aromatic, fruits etc. produced by various research centers will also be sold.

The Fair will Attract More Number of Farmers:

This year, Bengali Rasgulla & Gulab Jamun are going to entice the farmers in Pantnagar fair. For this, a team of eight artisans who came from West Bengal along with the Director Ayan Mandal is ready to entice the people. As per the information received, the famous sweets of West Bengal along with Bengali Rasgulla & Gulab Jamun are available for the first time in the Pantnagar Kisan Mela.
