2 new schemes - CMSKY, CMKSY for farmers in Arunachal Pradesh

Good news for the farmers as the Agriculture Minister in Arunachal Pradesh, Dr Mohesh Chai has launched two new schemes to increase their income as well as production. The schemes that were announced on 8 October are - Chief Minister's Krishi Samuh Yojana (CMKSY) and Chief Minister's Sashakt Kisan Yojana (CMSKY).

Good news for the farmers as the Agriculture Minister in Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Mohesh Chai has launched two new schemes to increase their income as well as production. The schemes that were announced on 8 October are - Chief Minister's Krishi Samuh Yojana (CMKSY) and Chief Minister's Sashakt Kisan Yojana (CMSKY).

Chai said the Finance Minister had announced several initiatives to transform the farm economy in the state during his 2018-19 budget speech. He added that under these initiatives, all related departments will work under District Agricultural Development Society which is responsible for planning and implementation of farmers oriented development projects.

Chai also said "the state produces around 4500 metric tons (Mt) of fish every year, while the demand is about 15000 mt. So, there is a set market for fishes here. The agriculture minister also launched the department’s web portal.

Further describing in detail, Agriculture Secretary Mimum Tayeng said, the CMSKY would include three programmes; the CM's Employment Generation Scheme, Agri-Mechanization Programme and Flagship Programme on Rubber and Tea. Whereas the CMKSY will aim at empowering farmers via cooperative approach, by giving them timely support and marketing intervention for better price realization and income generation, the secretary said.

The state government is also planning more such policies to enhance the farmer's income. It has also planned to link the farmers with the market.
