7th Pay Commission: Check Salary Calculation After 4% DA Hike for Central Govt Employees

Over the past few months, central government employees have been expecting a salary increase. Prior to Holi, it was predicted that their dearness allowance (DA) would increase. Yet, the Centre made no announcements on pay increases. There is now some good news for them, though.

The overall DA will be 42% after a 4% DA increase

According to media reports, the Central government would probably announce the increase in the dearness allowance (DA) on March 22. The Union Cabinet meeting on March 22, which kicks off Chaitra Navratri, is expected to be followed by the announcement of the DA raise.

The overall DA will be 42% after a 4% DA increase. As a result, the total yearly dearness allowance on the Rs. 18,000 base pay will be Rs (annually).

The last time, the DA raise was announced was on September 28, 2022, and it went into effect on July 1, 2022. Two times every year, in January and July, the Center updates DA.

Every month, there would be an increment of Rs 720. Employees currently receive a monthly dearness allowance of Rs 6,840 at a 38% rate.
