The Tripura government has announced a substantial increase in DA (Dearness Allowance) and DR (Dearness Relief) for its employees and retirees before the start of the new year in 2023. More than 1 lakh regular employees and 80,800 pensioners in the state will benefit from this decision.

"Today, we increased DA/DR for state employees and pensioners' dearness allowances by 12%. The current total DA will be 20% starting in December 2022. 80,800 pensioners and more than 1 lakh regular employees will benefit, according to Tripura CM Manik Saha.

The Tripura Cabinet approved a proposal for a 5% increase for state government employees and retirees with effect from 1 July earlier in August, ahead of the northeastern state's assembly election.

Odisha Govt Extends Grant in Aid for School Teachers and Employees:

According to the Odisha government, eligible employees of newly-aided non-government high schools will be eligible for the grant-in-aid extension. In addition, this help will cover qualified workers at Madrasa and Upper Primary (ME) Schools. 

According to a statement from the state administration, this increase will benefit employees who were receiving 100% Grant-in-Aid as of December 31, 2021.

The State Cabinet meeting on Tuesday concluded with the decision, which would affect all teaching and non-teaching workers employed by institutions that qualify.

The cabinet decision will benefit roughly 26,164 teaching and non-teaching staff members of the newly-aided non-government high schools, UP (ME) Schools, and Madrasas, according to a report by Odisha TV.

The state government estimated that the extension of the boost under the Grant-in-Aid will result in an additional cost to the exchequer of Rs 280.48 crores annually.
