7th Pay Commission: Tamil Nadu Increases DA of Government Employees; Central Govt. Employees to Get Hike Soon
The TN government has agreed to shoulder the financial burden in consideration of the well-being of state employees even though the decision would result in an increase in annual spending of Rs 2,359 crore.
7th Pay Commission Update: The Dearness Allowance (DA) for public employees, including teachers, pensioners, and family pensioners, was raised from 34% to 38% on Sunday by the MK Stalin-led Tamil Nadu government. Notably, the decision was made after taking into account the representation of government workers and will benefit nearly 16 lakh employees.

In response to the protest by government teachers demanding "same compensation for equal labour," he announced the formation of a committee made up of three senior officials, led by the Finance Secretary-Expenditure. According to him, the panel's recommendations have led to the government's decision to take action.
He referred to the DA hike as a "New Year's present" and urged the workers to support the government's initiatives for the welfare and development of the populace.

DA Hike for Central Government Employees soon
The Central Government employees have been requesting an increase in the fitment factor from 2.57 times to 3.68 times based on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for several months. The government personnel of all categories will profit if the fitting factor is raised.
Under the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, government employees must be aware that their compensation is decided by their basic salary, fitment factor, and allowances.
If the Center increases the fitment factor by three times, the employee's base pay would be 18,000 X 2.57, or Rs. 46,260, minus allowances.
The wage, if the employees' demands are granted, will be 26000 X 3.68, or Rs 95,680. The pay will be 21000 X 3 = Rs 63,000 if the Center agrees to a three-fold increase in the fitment factor.
