‘Aaj Tak HD’ - India’s First HD News Channel launched

Aaj Tak, India's No. 1 television news channel with more than 250 million viewers has launched country’s very first Hindi High definition (HD) news channel ‘Aaj Tak HD’. Strengthening its 18-year legacy of being a pioneer, the channel makes another big achievement by ushering in the future with the HD innovation.

Aaj Tak, India's No. 1 television news channel with more than 250 million viewers has launched country’s very first Hindi High definition (HD) news channel ‘Aaj Tak HD’. Strengthening its 18-year legacy of being a pioneer, the channel makes another big achievement by ushering in the future with the HD innovation. Aaj Tak HD will be power-driven by rich exclusives, higher picture and audio quality, lesser ad breaks, making it the most preferred news channel for viewers.

Chairman and Editor in Chief, India Today Group, Aroon Purie during the launch ceremony said, "Time and information are the actual currencies of the present digital age. We have invented Aaj Tak HD to give our viewers the best value on both these counts.  The new HD channel has been designed in a way where there will be less ad breaks and more news content than anywhere else.  And I assure you that Aaj Tak HD is not just about High Definition audio-video it is about High Definition content and more of it.  As a market leader with Aaj Tak, we have always been Sabse Tez, and now with Aaj Tak HD we won't be just Sabse Tez but Sabse Zyada”.

The leading Hindi news channel is the first to make use of 3D amplified reality graphics during the Uttar Pradesh polls, first to use drone camera for news reporting, first to start election express - the one and only LIVE and on the move newsroom. Additionally Aaj Tak is the first Hindi news channel to beat GEC channels for its coverage. The brand has always been in the top due to its pioneering novel technologies. And now the launch of the HD channel will reinforce the firm’s competitive positioning and will also consolidate its leadership in the Hindi speaking region.

The media group is also planning to launch the new channel with some special features on Bollywood, Business and International News. 

The latest HD channel will be offered exclusively on ‘Tata Sky’ (Channel Number 508) initially, for the viewers in India and in due course will be available on other platforms.
