Advanta Indonesia reaches the finale of the “UN women 2020 Asia-Pacific Women’s Empowerment Principles Awards.”

The award, a part of the 2020 UN Women Asia-Pacific WEPs Awards, is designed to highlight field crop demonstrations and farming training given to women farmers.

This thoughtful gesture with safety-first in mind has led to the participation of an increasing number of Indonesian women. During the Coronavirus pandemic, their participation shot up by 30%.

The Award, which is the first of its kind in Asia-Pacific, saw the participation of 60+ applications in 6 categories viz; Gender-Responsive Marketplace, Gender-Inclusive Workplace, Covid-19 action, Youth Leadership, Leadership, and Community and Industry Engagement.

These awards are important because the pandemic had (and is still) lifting the curtains from the sheer vulnerabilities of women to economic shocks. Women in Indonesia have been facing a lot of gender inequalities.

Advanta’s step towards women empowerment comes a strong ray of hope and opens doors for Indonesian women to showcase their value in sectors outside their homes.
