To improve direct communication with farmers nationwide, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, launched the Kisan Call Center outbound call facility at Krishi Bhawan on February 21. Housed within DD Kisan's studio at Krishi Bhawan, this program seeks to promote a more inclusive and responsive agricultural ecosystem by facilitating proactive contact between the Ministry and farmers.

Direct Communication with Farmers

With the establishment of the Kisan Call Center outbound call facility, senior officials and divisional representatives of the Ministry can now reach out to farmers nationwide to ask feedback on implemented schemes. This direct line of communication enables the Ministry to understand the ground realities faced by farmers and tailor policies and initiatives accordingly. Additionally, farmers have the opportunity to voice their suggestions and concerns directly to the Ministry, fostering a transparent and responsive governance framework.

Enhancing Scheme Implementation

Union Minister Arjun Munda, during the launch, emphasized the importance of leveraging the feedback mechanism to enhance the implementation of agricultural schemes. By actively engaging with farmers from states like Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand, Minister Munda gained insights into the effectiveness of various initiatives such as the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund and Per Drop-More Crop scheme. Furthermore, Minister Munda urged officials to maintain regular communication with selected farmers and utilize their feedback to drive meaningful reforms and improvements in scheme delivery.

Future Initiatives

In addition to the Kisan Call Center outbound call facility, Minister Munda also discussed upcoming initiatives aimed at benefitting the agriculture sector and farmers. During his visit to the Integrated Control and Command Centre at Krishi Bhawan, Minister Munda learned about plans to integrate digital systems to facilitate data-driven policy formulation and decision-making. This integrated approach will enable the government to harness information on weather patterns, crop health, market trends, and more, thereby empowering farmers with valuable insights to optimize their agricultural practices.

By fostering direct communication and feedback mechanisms, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare aims to foster a conducive environment for sustainable agricultural growth and rural development. With proactive engagement and collaborative efforts, the government endeavors to usher in a new era of prosperity for farmers across the nation.
