AIM-ICDK Water Innovation Challenge 4.0 Highlights Indo-Danish Collaboration, Showcasing Groundbreaking Water Solutions
The AIM-ICDK Water Innovation Challenge 4.0 showcased groundbreaking water solutions from Indian and Danish innovators. The event highlighted the growing Indo-Danish partnership, focusing on sustainable, high-impact innovations for global water challenges.
The fourth edition of the AIM-ICDK Water Innovation Challenge 4.0 concluded at the 2024 Next Generation Digital Action (NGDA) event in Copenhagen, Denmark, further strengthening the Indo-Danish Green Strategic Partnership. The challenge, a prominent platform for fostering innovative and sustainable solutions to global water issues, saw significant collaboration between Indian and Danish innovators.
This year’s challenge was a result of a joint effort by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK), and DTU Skylab under the DTU Next Generation Action Program, with invaluable support from the International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW), the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Denmark’s Environmental Protection Agency, the Embassy of Denmark, and DANIDA Fellowship.
Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, emphasized the challenge’s importance in advancing sustainable water solutions. He highlighted that AIM-ICDK Water Challenge is now in its fourth year, a testament to the commitment of both India and Denmark to promoting innovative solutions for global water issues. The remarkable achievements of our young innovators at NGDA 2024 underline the power of international collaboration in tackling pressing environmental challenges.
The challenge aimed to inspire not only technological innovation but also practical, long-term solutions for water management, conservation, and accessibility. Teams from both countries presented groundbreaking ideas that addressed critical water challenges, further cementing the growing synergy between India and Denmark in sustainable development, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Eske Bo Rosenberg, Consul General and Head of Trade and Innovation at the Consulate General of Denmark in Bangalore, expressed optimism about the ongoing collaboration. He highlighted that India’s participation at the Next Generation Digital Action and Digital Tech Summit reflects the strength of Indo-Danish relations in solving global challenges.

Throughout the event, participants attended intensive boot camps and pitch sessions, culminating at the Digital Tech Summit held on October 30-31, 2024, in Copenhagen.
