Alert!!! Monsoon Revival Will Bring Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorm in These States; Alert Issued

Starting with North India, monsoon rain has finally reached Delhi and its adjoining areas. Delhiites have been enjoying the weather since last two days. During the last 24 hours, the Palam observatory has recorded 58 mm of rainfall and this has been the heaviest spell of the Monsoon season until now. At the same time, the Safdarjung observatory has recorded only 10 mm of rains in the same period.

At the moment, Monsoon Trough is passing through the National Capital region and due to all this the rainfall activities have increased.  It is expected that rainfall will continue for another 24 - 48 hours in the entire region.  After 2 days, the Monsoon Trough will start moving northwards again, thus increasing rainfall activities over northern parts of Punjab, Haryana & Northwest Uttar Pradesh.

In addition, moderate rainfall is possible at few places of North Rajasthan, South Himachal Pradesh & South Uttarakhand. Light showers will be seen over Northwest UP, remaining part of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand & South Jammu and Kashmir.

Going towards South, we can see that monsoon has finally revived over Kerala. Now the active West Coast Trough is going from South Konkan to Kerala. Hence, there could be moderate to heavy showers with isolated very heavy rainfall during the next 2 days over many regions in Kerala and adjoining South Coastal Karnataka. Places like Wayanad, Kozhikode, Idukki and Mangalore will also be affected due to torrential rainfall. Possibility of flooding is also there in some areas. In addition moderate rainfall is likely over Goa & northern parts of Karnataka coast.

Also light to moderate showers will return over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru & extreme west of Tamil Nadu.

Talking about Eastern part of India, rainfall over flood wrecked Bihar have now become meager and so in East Uttar Pradesh. Rainfall has also reduced over Nepal. Therefore, in due course of time, flooding situation will improve. East Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal would receive only light rainfall.
