Alert! Scattered Rain along with Thundershowers likely over These Regions in Next 4-5 days

Due to moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal and supporting upper atmospheric features, fairly widespread to widespread rain/thundershowers very likely over Northeast India and scattered to fairly widespread over East India during next 2 days, says the weather forecast report of Indian Meteorological department reports.

On the other hand, due to trough/wind discontinuity, isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers very likely over parts of central & south peninsular India during the next 4-5 days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places also likely over these regions during this period.

Heatwave conditions are very likely West Rajasthan during 8th-9th May

Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are very likely West Rajasthan during 8th-9th May. Maximum Temperatures likely to remain between 41-43°C over some parts of Telangana, Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka and between 41-44°C over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Vidarbha and 40-41°C over interior Tamil Nadu during next 2 days.

Rain/Thundershowers observed at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe and interior Tamilnadu.

As per yesterday’s reports, thunderstorm observed at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala & Mahe.

As per yesterday’s reports, maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over West Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Telangana and Assam & Meghalaya.
