All About Government’s FAME Scheme for Electrical Vehicles; Check Out Eligibility and How to Apply
Vehicle emissions have greatly worsened pollution in recent years. The Central Government of India announced the Fame India Scheme in 2015 to minimize pollution produced by diesel and gasoline-powered cars and to encourage electric or hybrid vehicles in India.
The Fame India plan is an incentive program that promotes the use of electric and hybrid automobiles. Fame India's full form is "Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in India."
Electric car manufacturers and infrastructure suppliers receive this incentive in the form of subsidies. The Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises announced the Fame India initiative as part of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan.
The Fame India Scheme is divided into two stages. These are as follows:
Phase I: The first phase of the Fame India Scheme began in 2015 and ran until March 31, 2019.
Phase II: The second phase of this program began in April 2019 and will last through March 31, 2022.
