Harbinger of Green Revolution in India, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, is organizing 102 ALL INDIA FARMERS’ FAIR & AGRO-INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION. Dedicated to the Nation in 1960 to promote agricultural education in the country by our First PM Jawaharlal Nehru, the institution has national significance. Since its inception, the University is catering to the needs of the society by imparting quality education, need based research and disseminating farmer's friendly innovations through extension education. The University has grown many folds since its inception and presently houses 8 constituent colleges with Agriculture, Home Science, Veterinary Science and Technology as main streams.

The prestigious Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel Best Institution Award has been received by the institution twice for the year 1997 and 2005. The institute is credited for achieving significance in producing high yielding disease resistant crop varieties, techniques of crop production and technological tools to enable farmers in increasing their crop production.
To display its innovations, the Directorate of Extension Education organizes All India Farmers' Fair and Agro-Industrial Exhibition twice in a year mainly to benefit farming community. This year the forthcoming Kisan Mela is being organized from October 06-09, 2017. The institute has broadcasted an open invitation to the concerned stakeholders to participate in forthcoming "Krishi Kumbh" and join hands with the University in its noble cause of uplifting rural mass by displaying valuable products and innovative ideas/techniques to achieve its objectives in a most efficient manner. This biannual event has its name for recording mass gathering. The various exhibitors expected are to be from Chemical Fertilizer, Micro nutrients and Bio-fertilizer Tractor, Farm Machinery and Tools Pumps, Motors, Sprayer Seed, Planting Materials Pesticides, Bio-pesticides, Veterinary Medicines, Animal Feed, Additives Food & Beverages Herbal Products. Publication Houses, Banks and Financial Institutions Government/Non-Government organizations, Academic and Research Institutions are also going to be a part of the grand event.
The activities enlisted in the invitation focuses many fronts including sale of quality seeds and planting materials, Animal Show, Horticultural Show, Scientific Exhibition, Kisan Gosthi Special Lectures, Field Visits Cultural Programme etc.
