Former students of Nauni's Dr YS Parmar University gather for a heartwarming reunion, sharing memories and pledging support for their alma mater's development.

Alumni Reunite to Fondly Remember University Days at Nauni University

Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, recently hosted a heartwarming reunion as former students from various batches converged for the Alumni Meet. This event served as a delightful opportunity for alumni to reconnect and recall about their cherished university days.

The gathering witnessed esteemed guests, including Dr. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Vinay Kumar, DDG and Director of International Cooperation at the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, and Devender Aaasi, MD of Omniflowers Canada, were honored as Guests of Honor. Notable attendees included Indian Forest Services officers, government administrators, progressive farmers, and entrepreneurs. Among them was Ram Lal Sharma, a distinguished alumnus from the 1971 batch of the College of Agriculture Solan, who added a touch of nostalgia to the event.

Dr. Raj Kumar Thakur, President of the UHF Alumni Association, extended a warm welcome to participants from across the country and abroad, emphasizing the significance of their presence at Nauni.

During his address, Dr. Nand Lal Sharma recollected his university days and encouraged fellow alumni to contribute to the Alumni Corpus Fund, highlighting its pivotal role in the university's growth. He stressed the importance of alumni engagement, urging them to mentor current students and facilitate discussions on skill enhancement. Dr. Nand Lal Sharma and Devinder Aasi led by example, each making generous contributions of Rs 1 lakh to the corpus fund, with many others following the lead.

Expressing gratitude, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel underlined the invaluable role of alumni in shaping the institution's trajectory. He emphasized the need for regular alumni gatherings to further strengthen the bond between past and present students.

Alumni Association also witnessed the election of its new executive body, with Dr. Harish Sharma elected as President, Ajay Rana, and Dr. Neerja Singh Rana as Vice President, and Dr. Anil Handa assuming the role of Secretary. As part of the festivities, a memento and student magazine were launched, accompanied by a lively cultural program organized by the 'Srijan Arts Club,' adding vibrancy to the Alumni Meet.

The event concluded on a note of companionship, with alumni departing with cherished memories and renewed connections, looking forward to future reunions at their alma mater.
